Whew - what a great quiltover weekend at my friend Lavon's house. We met at her house on Friday and I showed up with all this -
You know how some people dress their children in matching shirts at Disneyland so they can easily be identified, Lavon and Nancy decided to do exactly that so we wouldn't lose them in the quilt shops.
Here is a before shot of how empty Lavon's truck was before we went shopping. There are absolutely no purchases in the the back of that truck. How much damage can five of us possibly do?
We drove out to Mimis to load up on carbs. You need a lot of energy to do some serious shopping. The first store we hit was having a sale - whoo hoo. The Quilters Cocoon in Riverside was having a 20% off sale on jelly rolls, layer cakes and kits. Here are my purchases. Love Portugal - not the country, the fabric. Where are they going to fit in my already stuffed sewing room? I don't know but at 20% off they will fit in somewhere.
This Halloween fabric was great and I have no current plans for it but it too will find a home in my sewing room until it ends up in something. Did I leave any for anyone else. Not exactly. Since this shop isn't exactly close, I thought I would save gas money and get all of it. I know I am not the only one who thinks that way.
This was a kit that Pat bought
I thought it was funny that a quilt shop would be next to this shop.
A couple of other shops along the way and then it was time to eat again. We stopped at Babe's Slim Pig Ns (no I am not making that name up). The restaurant had these hilarious pig statues all over the place.
This is Nancy's daughter Heather. I have no idea what she is doing with this pig's nose.
Here I am with some of these cute pigs.
Here is where I look tall.
Here I am not so tall. I am even standing on my toes for this big guy. If I don't get my butt back to Curves, I may end up as big.
Words of wisdom -
Here are the twins and Heather making purchases at Quilter's Garden in Placentia. What a great store. Love this quilt.
Back at Lavon's let's see the back of that Sequoia now.
Now that's impressive if I do say so myself. We waited for Maryanne and Collette to get off work to do what else go eat again. It was exhausting filling up the back of that truck. I have a lot more pictures of this weekend to show during the week. You are going to love the quilts from show and tell.
I heard that two blogger friends are having giveaways. Deb who now has a finished square dance quilt and Marsha who won the prize at Sharon's pj party for writing an amazing poem! Speaking of Sharon who shook hands with Marie Osmond and screamed at Donny - welcome home.
